The Reserved Category Cell at Chandigarh College Of Engineering (CCE) Jhanjeri works to ensure a safe and supportive environment for students and staff belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC).

The cell accomplishes its objective by providing a specialized team of professionals who offer guidance, counselling, and tailored support to students& staff. In addition, they organize workshops, seminars, and outreach programs to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills for success

Furthermore, the cell advocates for students from underrepresented categories and strives to bridge any existing gaps. Their endeavors play a vital role in fostering an inclusive and diverse campus environment where each individual is appreciated and honored.

Objectives

  • To provide support and guidance to individuals belonging to reserved categories in accessing opportunities
  • To ensure fair representation and equal opportunities for reserved category individuals in education and employment
  • To promote diversity and inclusivity in various sectors through initiatives and programs for reserved category individuals
  • To monitor and evaluate the progress and impact of policies and measures aimed at supporting reserved category individuals
  • To collaborate with stakeholders and advocate for the rights and interests of reserved category individuals in society

Responsibilities

  • Student Support: Providing support and guidance to students from reserved categories regarding academic, personal, and social matters
  • Advisory Role: Offering advice and assistance to students regarding academic planning, career opportunities, and personal development
  • Awareness Programs: Organising awareness programs, workshops, and seminars to educate the campus community about issues related to reserved categories
  • Policy Implementation: Ensuring the effective implementation of policies and initiatives to support students from reserved categories
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collecting data on the representation and experiences of students from reserved categories and using this information to inform decision-making and improve support services
  • Conflict Resolution: Providing a platform for resolving conflicts or addressing grievances related to discrimination, harassment, or other issues students from reserved categories face
