Blood Donation Camp was inaugurated by Shri Prem Singh, Padma Shree Awardee. On this occasion he blessed donors and gave message to participate in this noble cause by joining hands to serve the people in need at large. First of all donors were asked to fill up a Registration Form, then they went through a thorough medical check-up of blood pressure, hemoglobin count and weight measurement. There was an arrangement for donors to lie down and recuperate for a while before they leave the venue. They were provided with refreshments in order to ensure they stay in shape. The samples were carefully sealed and transported away, while the volunteers helped in registration and clarified all the queries of the donors. The donors received certificate of recognition, and gift hampers. All followed social distancing norms strictly. 186 units of blood have been collected in the camp. An equal number of students were rejected by medical team due to some medical health issues like low hemoglobin etc. Speaking on the occasion, S.Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC said in today’s scenario, only 50 percent of the country's blood requirement is fulfilled through such blood donation camps. Hence, there is a need to create awareness amongst our youth for active participation in such a noble cause and I’m glad we contributed our part in this cause. Additionally, he added that organizing Blood Donation Camp is a regular feature of CGC and keep on conducting such camps for the welfare of our people and our nation.
