Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Jhanjeri Successfully Organized 7th Annual Sports Meet 2022 Mr .Ankur and Ms .Gurpreet Semester 2nd were Best Athletes Jhanjeri, Mohali: The 7 th Annual Sports Day of North India’s fastest growing educational institute, CGC Jhanjeri was held on the college ground in a frolicsome atmosphere. The sports meet, which started at 9:30 am, was inaugurated by the Honorable President S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, & Manoj Kumar. The event was marked by a string of spectacular performances presented by the CGCians, who were brimming with enthusiasm and sportsmanship, in the presence of our guest of honors Manoj Kumar, a popular Boxer/ Artist/ Motivational Speaker/ 2 times Olympian/ Double Medalist Common Wealth Games & Arjuna Awardee and Navjeet Kaur Dhillon, the amazing Discus Throw player / Common Wealth Bronze Medal/ Maharaja Ranjit Singh Awardee/ Income Tax Inspector), and Kawal Bawa and Vice Principal, Manender Singh Bawa made it super-special. The stage secretary, presented welcome address. The officials declared the meet open, and released balloons symbolizing the vibrant hopes of the sporting students that were flying high. The long awaited athletic events were held under the guidance of the Sports Incharge, which included track events and activities like race, high jump, obstacle race, javelin throw, long jump, discuss throw, shot put and tug of war. The players showed commitment, dedication, discipline, and impressive performances in all the matches seen during the day. It was spectacular to watch the marathon rally led by group leaders. Manoj Kumar & Navjeet Singh Dhillon, in their closing remarks congratulated the winners Mr.Ankur from ME (CEC) Semester 6th and Ms .Gaurpreet Semester 2nd from CLC were best athletes and overall trophy winners were Chandigarh School of Business and Runner Up team was the Chandigarh Engineering College as well as all the participants for their disciplined performance and fighting spirit and said, “Age is not an obstacle. It is a limitation you impose on yourself”. “Sports are an essential component for the holistic and all-round development of an individual’s personality, and students should adopt sports in their daily life to stay fit and healthy”, said S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri while congratulating the winners. Towards the end, the faculty members from the DSW Dept. thanked the students, teaching and non- teaching staff for their extended coordination to make this 7 th Sports Annual Meet a big success.
